Fairground was founded by Jenn Barker in 2019. With more than two decades inside the independent music ecosystem, Jenn has worked across record labels, international touring, festival leadership, higher education and financial management. Her early foundation in Vancouver’s independent label and festival community shaped a practical understanding of how sustainable careers are built from the inside out.

Fairground was designed to function as infrastructure rather than traditional management. The work integrates strategic oversight, financial clarity, rights management, grant strategy and distribution into a cohesive system that allows artists to operate as businesses without losing creative control.

Fairground works with internationally recognized artists including Destroyer and Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown) while mentoring emerging entrepreneurs and building systems that help artists operate with clarity and long-term stability. Fairground’s team includes a distribution partnership with FUGA, close mentorship with rising label play dead and Playground PR, all centred on building sustainable, artist-led careers.
